AIDS Healthcare Foundation
The Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a global nonprofit organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to over 1,000,000 people in 43 countries. We are currently the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the U.S.
AHF funds its mission to rid the world of AIDS through a network of pharmacies, thrift stores, healthcare contracts and other strategic partnerships. Generating new, innovative ways of treatment, prevention and advocacy has been the hallmark of our success. We are currently leading a mass testing initiative to identify and treat the 25 million people who are unaware they are infected.
By advocating big goals–such as having 1 billion people tested each year–AHF hopes to eliminate older, more time-consuming methods. Since 1987, AHF has cared for thousands of people living with HIV and AIDS worldwide. As we create and implement new programs in communities across the U.S. and abroad, we expand delivery of healthcare and influence over policy with the aim of saving more lives.
City of Compton
Compton is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Compton greeted the 21st century as a multiracial, multicultural community of nearly 100,000 residents. Known as the “Hub City” because of its unique position in almost the exact geographical center of Los Angeles County, the City of
Compton is also one of the oldest cities in the county.
Compton’s easy accessibility to and from five freeways and the affordability of its housing (median home price was $407,000 in December 2006) has drawn additional residents and sparked the interest of developers. In the first few years of the century, developers constructed over 100 new homes and built a new Rite Aide, Wells Fargo Bank, two Starbucks, and a number of retail/commercial centers.
The 2000 census recorded 56.8% of the population as Hispanic or Latino; 40.3 percent, Black or African American; 1.1%, Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, 0.7% Native American or Alaskan Native, and the balance Asian, White or other race.`

Light and Life Christian Fellowship
Reformed Church of Los Angeles
We seek to preach the Bible expositionally with passion and clarity, and make disciples of Jesus Christ through small group communities. We're devoted to engaging and impacting our neighborhoods through evangelism, community outreach, social justice, and cultural renewal. We believe the Christian faith is best articulated through the historic Reformed Creeds and Confessions, but we also believe in presenting these truths in an authentic way that is understood in the language and culture of the people we are ministering to.
The Compton Initiative
The Compton Initiative is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 with a commitment to restore the city of Compton by painting homes, schools and churches on quarterly workdays in partnership with individual volunteers and other organizations.
Starting with a small group of volunteers eager to show love and inspire hope, we’ve grown to thousands of caring workers of all ages and backgrounds in yellow shirts who serve across the city.
We offer community organizations, service groups and non-profits an opportunity to make a sustainable impact in Compton by instilling a sense of care and pride within each neighborhood.

Discovery launched in 1999 to help people from any background discover the stunning and revolutionary way of following Jesus in a welcoming environment. Discovery was planted by Rocky Mountain Christian Church, LifeBridge Christian Church, East 91st Christian Church, Church Planters of the Rockies, and The Orchard Group.
Because of this mandate, we strongly invite people to belong before they believe, and we’re passionate about reminding all of us that no matter what you’ve done or what’s been done to you, you’re welcome at Discovery. Consequently, the Discovery community is a collection of passionate followers of Christ, people looking into the claims of Christ, and even skeptical people who have found community at Discovery.
We are Christ centered and outward-focused. We’re passionate about our beliefs and respectful and courteous to everyone who joins our community.
